USDBC To Participate in Cuba Business Conference

After a hiatus, USDBC will again attend the U.S. – Cuba Agricultural Business Conference (USACC) held April 6 -8, 2022 in Havana, Cuba by the U.S. Agricultural Coalition for Cuba (USACC). The pandemic, as well as a difficult policy environment, has prevented the conference from taking place over the last few years. The business conference is an important opportunity to renew and establish contacts with Cuban Ministry of Agriculture and Commerce officials, Alimport, producers, buyers, and processors. It is a chance to learn about recent policy changes affecting agriculture trade, investment, and production. With so many changes to the global market dynamics, the timing for this event with key Cuban contacts couldn’t be better.
The current Farm Bill includes language allowing for the use of funding through USDA/FAS’ Market Access Program (MAP) to cover travel to Cuba, with certain caveats. We are grateful to FAS for working through the approval process and caveats so that we have now been able to add Cuba to our global marketing strategy for 2022.
