USDBC Debuts with Beans at Culinary Cup, Santo Domingo DR

white bean tartThe Dominican Republic (DR) is the fourth largest export market for US dry beans (now that the UK is an independent marketplace). As part of our work to enhance our promotional presence in the DR, our Americas office put together an incredible cooking demonstration and presentation with U.S. dry beans at the Culinary Cup during the Expogastronomica food show in Santo Domingo on September 15 & 16. Expogastronomica is considered to be the premier culinary event in the DR targeting chefs, the foodservice industry, and HRI. Our participation was geared to elevate dry beans from the side dish to the center of the plate.
USDBC was featured in a Master Class presented by well-known Dominican Chef Ana Lebrón who cooked several innovative dishes. The event attracted almost 2,000 people and reached 123,000 contacts on Facebook and generated 29,000 hits on Instagram. We are still receiving inquiries and requests for more information and industry contacts and plan to participate again in 2022.
