Bean Master Class With Michelin Starred Chef – On July 1

In early 2021 USDBC signed an agreement with now Michelin starred Master Chef Juan Manuel Barrientos (Chef Juanma) to conduct a series of virtual and in person classes focused on innovative cooking with dry beans. Chef JuanMa is the only Colombian Chef to receive a Michelin star and runs the El Cielo restaurant group with numerous restaurants in Washington DC, Miami, and throughout Colombia, as well as a five star hotel in Medellin, Colombia. He was a key note speaker at BeanCon21 and has conducted a previous master class with USDBC in Colombia in 2020.
Chef JuanMa is known for his innovative cooking techniques and presentation that feature the magical realism that is symbolic of Colombian literature and art. If you’ve never tried his dishes, or seen his cooking style, it’s not like anything you’ve experienced before.  On July 1, 2021 Chef JuanMa will conduct a special Master Class virtually for Latin American chefs and influencers. The class will teach participants new and innovative ways to cook healthy dishes with beans featuring special techniques to make Fish in spicy black bean mojo sauce with black bean puree and wild mushrooms, covered in black bean “ashes.” We anticipate record attendance at this event but if you’d like to join please sign up at www.usafrijoles.com. Prepare to be surprised and awed by his innovative cooking style with beans.
